About Us
The Civility Institute is an education-focused training and curriculum development organization dedicated to equipping students with the social, emotional, and behavioral tools necessary for success in school, the workplace, and the broader community. Our work centers on cultivating cultures of respect, responsibility, and self-awareness through engaging, culturally responsive learning experiences. We believe that civility is not a soft skill, but a foundational competency that directly impacts academic performance, classroom climate, leadership development, and long-term student outcomes.
Background & Educational Foundations
The Civility Institute was founded on extensive classroom and instructional leadership
experience within large, diverse public school systems. This foundation informs every
aspect of our curriculum design, ensuring alignment with authentic classroom dynamics,
student needs, and educator realities.
Our programs are particularly relevant for Title I schools, social-emotional learning
initiatives, positive behavior frameworks, and student engagement strategies. We recognize
that many behavioral challenges stem from unmet developmental and social-skill needs,
which our curricula directly address.
Our Team
Our team is composed of passionate educators, facilitators, and leaders dedicated to raising the bar on civility. With extensive classroom experience and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching, we work together to equip youth with the tools of competence, character, courage, and compassion—empowering the next generation to become agents of positive social change.
